Hawaiian Waterman Foils Along With Kites Throughout The Islands
Differences between the islands of Hawaii and Maui — using fiery molten lava shining in the space, at a color of plain water so intensely gloomy it seems black — that the sea life has been perplexed.
Flying fish drifted from the water also did double takes. That was a young guy moving downwind, but levitating a couple feet over the water. Maybe even Aged King Neptune scraped his eponymous blossom underneath him looking skyward in the odd shadow flying over the surface.
And he was not flying per se, but instead foiling onto a hydrofoil shortboard through this crossing. It was really one of five distinct station crossings Lenny did this week on his own assignment to hydrofoil downwind from coast to shore linking almost every island in the Hawaiian chain.
He is paddled the majority of the stations involving the Hawaiian Islands currently (as a teenager), equally likely and standup. Along with windsurfed and kitesurfed involving these, to boot up. However, this moment, as though by accident, he really broke his own album about the standup hydrofoil crossing with a whopping 41 moments. Not only is this a enormous gap, but it is a whole record.
Maui to Lanai and then Lanai into Molokai, he grabbed to a hydrofoil kiteboard. Molokai to Oahu, he grabbed to a standup throw hydrofoil board. And on the last crossing Oahu to Kauai, he utilized a sailboat.
However back into the crossings, maybe you noticed an issue? The entire downwind thing? Yeah, that is part of the entire motive Kai Lenny embarked with this epic endeavor. Junk, litter and plastics of all types that have dumped into the sea drift downwind, amassing in gyres (large scale methods of wind-driven surface currents from the sea).
In a bid to boost consciousness about the significance of maintaining coastlines fresh — and preventing plastics from getting into the sea — in every coast Lenny foiled into, he coordinated gigantic beach cleanups.
Really, communities and audiences on six unique islands spanned Lenny in — that only hovered over from another island 30 miles off (such as a supervisor) — then everybody got to do the job. At one of those beach cleanups they gathered more than three tons of debris.
We requested Lenny every other highlights along the way because blue-black wilderness involving most of those islands.
Maybe somewhere off Oahu, on Lenny’s method to Kauai, the sea life eventually figured out it. And possibly, Old King Neptune even drove Lenny a thank you for shaka out of several leagues under.
